Congratulations to the Smithdon Cluster Sports Council who planned and delivered a Commonwealth Games inspired KS1 Festival last week.

The Sports Council Reps set the date, booked the venue, invited all the local schools and then wrote to local companies for sponsorship of the event. They then planned the activities and delivered a fantastic fun festival which was hosted at Hunstanton Primary school.

Almost 200 KS1 students attended the festival from the cluster schools of: Brancaster, Dersingham, Docking, Heacham, Hunstanton, Ingoldisthorpe and Snettisham.

The festival lasted the full day with activities before and after a picnic lunch, the event was concluded with a presentation and fun raffle with the prizes all being donated from sponsors, all having a sporting theme.

Thanks go to all of the sponsors of the event: West Norfolk Academies Trust and Recipharm (shirt sponsors) – The Lodge Hotel, Snettisham Park, Adrian Flux, Anglian Log Cabins, Morrisons and Alive Leisure.

It is hoped that the festival will inspire the KS1 students to have a go at the CWG Sports and watch them over the summer as they are broadcast from Birmingham.
